You have pain during activities of daily living, movement or sport
You have pain without movement
You are not getting better with rest/over time
You are unable to perform your movement of choice/sport without pain, but have no pain during lower intensity activities
The pain doesn't need to be in your back in order to come see me
You are pregnant and any of the above sound like you
I often hear in my office, I should have come to see you a lot sooner, or I didn’t realize that you don’t just treat back pain.
My practice is unique, I am a chiropractor, but have been an athlete and fitness professional (running, spin, yoga, boot camps) for longer than I have been a chiropractor. I am also a Mom and Woman. These 4 things encompass who I am and drive what I am passionate about in life and in my career.
I don’t just treat backs, nor do I only adjust/crack backs.
I am a doctor first and a chiropractor second...this guides my decision making on the behalf of the patient always.
I do, however, specialize in helping people move better, without pain, numbness and/or tingling. I use a model that is deeply rooted in soft tissue therapy, joint alignment (not always adjusting) and movement (not always exercises). We discuss where you are today and where you would like to be in the future....then we create a treatment/movement plan to get you there. Sometimes it can be straightforward and simple and other times it is more complex and requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
I have an extended referral network that I feel privileged to work with regularly. This list includes, but is not limited to; medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, massage therapists, psychologists, acupuncturists, muscle activation technique practitioners, yoga therapists and pre/postnatal fitness specialists.
I treat spinal and other joint (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles, feet, hands) conditions as well as, muscle pain/conditions.
You do not have to be in pain to come in and see me.
Often times when a patient is in the rehabilitation phase of an injury (a patient is no longer in pain and is slowly transitioning into movement/exercise/sport), it is easier to guide care and get patients to their goals quickly.
As a Mother, I have taken a special interest pregnancy and postpartum phases, especially as it relates to athletic Women.
How to refer yourself into my practice:
I work out of a clinic in the South of Calgary and you can refer yourself directly to me without needing a referral from your family doctor or specialist.
I also accept referrals from many different healthcare professionals. My preference is to collaborate with the referring professional and treat that professional as the primary provider.
Here are a few professionals that regularly refer patients into my practice.
